Berlin Conference -
April 28-29, 2004
NCSJ
is pleased to provide background, reports and links on the upcoming international
conference on anti-Semitism, being sponsored by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in
Europe (OSCE), April 28-29, 2004, hosted in Berlin by the German government.
Following Germany's offer to host a 2004 conference, announced in Vienna
during the first-ever international conference on anti-Semitism, the
OSCE Ministerial Council formally authorized this conference in Decision
No. 4, "Tolerance
and Non-Discrimination," during its December 2003 annual
session.
In his opening
address to the OSCE Permanent Council as incoming OSCE
Chairman-in-Office, on January 15, Bulgarian Foreign Minister Solomon
Passy emphasized this issue as a priority for 2004.
Participants at Berlin will include governmental and
non-governmental representatives from the OSCE's 55 participating states
(Europe, former Soviet Union, and North America), applying the
legacy of the historic Helsinki
process. Read below
how this conference
is structured and how this emerging mechanism will provide ongoing
coordination in the fight against anti-Semitism.

project of NCSJ, and has not been endorsed by the OSCE or the United
States Government.
