Biography
- Robert J. Meth

|
Dr. Robert Meth was Chairman of NCSJ from 2002-2006, NCSJ President from
2000-2002, and is involved in a variety of leadership activities in his local
Jewish community of Los Angeles and nationally. He
is an alumnus of the UJA Young Leadership Cabinet and remains part of
the United Jewish Communities (UJC)
National Training Center. In
conjunction with UJA, he traveled to the Soviet Union twice to meet with
refuseniks in Moscow and Leningrad. He has returned to meet with
government and community leaders in Moscow, Kyiv and Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine)
since the Soviet collapse, as well
as in Latvia, Lithuania
and Belarus, and with Russian Jewish emigres in Israel and Berlin.
Bobby represented NCSJ at the June 2003
international conference on anti-Semitism, held in Vienna by the
Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE),
at the April 2004 follow-up conference
in Berlin, and at the February 2003 International
Conference on Peace and Harmony in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

Bobby
was Chairman of the 1994 UJA Maimonides Mission to Israel and co-chaired
the 1991-93 Los Angeles Operation Exodus Campaign, which raised the
funds to absorb the massive Soviet Jewish aliyah to Israel. He has
served in several capacities with the Jewish Federation of Los
Angeles, including the Board of Directors and the Executive
Committee, and is former Chairman of the Jewish Community Relations
Committee’s Soviet Jewry Commission. Bobby has participated in the
annual February Israel missions of the Conference
of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations in 2001,
2002, and 2003.
Bobby
has represented NCSJ in a variety of media outlets, including Adelphia
Channel's "Beyond
the Beltway" with Bill Rosendahl and WABC Radio's "Batchelor
and Alexander".
Bobby Meth also serves on the Boards of Directors of the American
Society for Yad Vashem,
and formerly of the Brandeis-Bardin Institute.
He is a member of the American Jewish Committee,
the Washington Club of the American
Israel Public Affairs Committee, and Sinai Temple in Los Angeles.
A New Jersey native, Bobby received his B.A. and
M.D. from the University of
Pennsylvania. He is a partner in the
Southern California Permanente Medical Group and a Fellow of the
American Academy of Family Physicians.
